Easy way to Set up ADB and Fastboot on a Mac

Ok, so I'm going to make a little write up on how to easily install ADB and fastboot on a Mac. It's actually quite simple, and plus you don't have to worry about drivers like in Windows.

Instructions

First, make a folder named "android" (no quotes of course ) You can place it anywhere on your hard drive, it doesn't really matter. Put it somewhere you'll easily remember, because you're going to be using it a LOT. I placed mine on my desktop.

Next, you'll want to download the android SDK from Here. (you won't need to install Java first like you would on a Windows PC, though I would recommend it anyway)

When the SDK finishes downloading, Unzip it and the contents of the "android-sdk-mac_x86" folder into your android folder.

Once you have done that, open your android folder. Go into the tools folder inside of it. Double click on the file called "android" (possibly called android sdk) This file is a UNIX executable and will open within a Terminal window.

When it finishes opening, check the folder called tools. Make sure both "Android SDK Tools" and "Android SDK Platform-tools" are selected within the tools folder. Click install and wait for them to download.

When they finish downloading, go into the platform-tools folder inside your android folder, then copy adb and fastboot and paste them into the root of your android folder.

Now that you have adb and fastboot installed, we're going to want to test them to make sure they work.

Go ahead and plug in your android device at this time. Make sure android debugging is enabled in settings. Go into Settings > Apps > Developer and check it there (for Gingerbread 2.3 and lower) or go into Settings > Developer Options and check it there for Ice Cream Sandwich or Jellybean. As of now, there are two ways to access adb and fastboot.

Open a Terminal window (look in Applications > Utilities if you can't find it). Type "cd" followed by the path you saved your android folder to (I'm going to use the Desktop for this demonstration) it should look like this Code:
cd /Users/<yourusername>/Desktop/android

Press enter.

Now you need to actually execute an adb or fastboot command. To do this, you'll need to type "./adb (or fastboot) <command>" For this tutorial, we will use "ADB devices" since it doesn't actually do anything to the phone. (we won't use fastboot since it requires rebooting to the boot loader which is different for every device)

In the same terminal window as before type the following:
Code:
./adb devices
then hit enter. It should turn up your device's serial number. If it does, proceed to the next step, if not recheck your steps, then leave a post in this thread.

(if it says * daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully * that is perfectly normal)

Now, at this moment, ADB and Fastboot are both completely useable. However, it's very annoying to have to CD into the directory and use ./ in front of every terminal command. I'll show you how to add it to your path so you don't have to do any of that.

Open a new Terminal window and type
Code:
nano ~/.bash_profile
it will open a window that looks like this:

(Yours will probably be blank, because I've added a lot of stuff to mine over the years)

Add a line to it that contains the path to your android folder. (again, I'm using Desktop) It should look like this
Code:
export PATH=${PATH}:/Users/<yourusername>/Desktop/android

Once you have added that, press CTRL+X to exit, then Y to confirm the save then press enter. It will close the nano editor. You can close the Terminal window now.

Now we need to verify that it works. Open a new Terminal window and type
Code:
adb devices
If it shows the serial number, then you have set it up successfully and are good to go!

Enable all hidden languages on a Rooted Samsung Rom

To contact us Click HERE

As you know, Ice cream sandwich and Jelly bean Roms for Galaxy S3 support most of languages, but a lot of careers hide many languages which they consider a useless languages in there regions.

I made a free, small and ugly application, but very useful app to allow you enable all those hidden languages (Arabic, Hebrew, Farsi, Bahasa...) on the input list settings and the stock keyboard.

Features :
- Auto Backup your current language settings
- Enable Hidden languages in the input language list and Keyboard
- Restore you language settings

This App was tested on Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300), Note2 and Note 10.1 with Samsung ICS and Jellybean Roms.

This app doesn't add any language support, it just enable all supported languages, so if you don't get your local language after reboot, that means it's not supported in your Rom.

/!\ This application works on a ROOTED DEVICES only.

Download .

At the meeting in the Czech press conference Microsoft product manager Peter Bobek said the company will release its office application for the mobile operating system iOS, Android and Symbian in March 2013.

The press release also states that the preview version of the new Microsoft Office Mobile for a wide range of users will be available in February next year. The editors of the foreign site cnet contacted Microsoft and received the following comments: "Mobile MS Office will work on smartphones running Windows Phone, iOS and Android. Anything more we can not tell yet." OnOnlineMicrosoft, dedicated Office Mobile no, no new applications. As before, for iOS, Android and Symbian are only OneNote and Lync.

Remember that rumor that Microsoft is developing its own office for the most popular mobile operating systems go for several months, since May of this year, when the network has a leaked report about Microsoft's plans.

PS Unfortunately, a few days ago received information that the Vice-President of Microsoft Communications Frank X. Shaw called the information "inaccurate" in his Twitter. It is not clear what he meant, perhaps, the release date.

Neuroimaging technique captures cocaine's devastating effect on brain blood flow

To contact us Click HERE

ScienceDaily (Oct. 10, 2012) ? Researchers from the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Stony Brook University have developed a high-resolution, 3D optical Doppler imaging tomography technique that captures the effects of cocaine restricting the blood supply in vessels -- including small capillaries -- of the brain. The study, reported in Molecular Psychiatry, and with images on the journal's October 2012 cover, illustrates the first use of the novel neuroimaging technique and provides evidence of cocaine-induced cerebral microischemia, which can cause stroke.

Stroke is one of the most serious medical risks of cocaine abuse. Cerebral blood flow (CBF) is disrupted due to the vasoactive effects of cocaine, and research has shown that the process contributes to stroke in cocaine abusers. An effective treatment has yet to be discovered because of minimal knowledge on the underlying mechanisms that cause cerebrovascular changes resulting from cocaine abuse. Current neuroimaging methods that could reveal clues to underlying mechanisms that cause cocaine-induced restricted CBF, such as magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomography angiography, are limited in scope. The Stony Brook team's neuroimaging technique offers a promising method to investigate structural changes in the small neurovascular networks of the brain that may be implicated in stroke.

In "Cocaine-induced cortical microischemia in the rodent brain: clinical implications," the researchers discovered that cocaine administered in doses equivalent to those normally taken by abusers caused constriction in blood vessels that inhibited CBF for varying lengths of time. Brain arteries, veins, and even capillaries, the smallest vessels, were affected by the doses. CBF was markedly decreased within just two-to-three minutes after drug administration. In some vessels, a decrease in CBF reached 70 percent. Recovery time for the vessels varied. Cocaine interrupted CBF in some arteriolar branches for more than 45 minutes. This effect became more pronounced after repeated cocaine administration.

"Our study revealed evidence of cocaine-induced cerebral microischemic changes in multiple experimental models, and we were able to clearly image the process and vasoactive effects at a microvascular level," said study Principal Investigator Yingtian Pan, PhD, Professor, Department of Biomedical Engineering, Stony Brook University. "These clinical changes jeopardize oxygen delivery to cerebral tissue making it vulnerable to ischemia and neuronal death."

The study reflects the collaborative research of Dr. Pan and Co-Principal Investigator Dr. Congwu Du, Associate Professor, Department of Biomedical Engineering at Stony Brook University, and Dr. Nora D. Volkow, M.D., Director of the National Institutes of Health's (NIH) National Institute on Drug Abuse. They point out that the types of cocaine-induced microischemic changes that occurred in the brain model are likely a contributor to neurotoxic effects, and they could underlie some of the neurological complications commonly experienced by cocaine abusers. These include various sensory changes, facial paralysis, numbness, and partial to full and irreversible paralysis.

Other study co-authors include Stony Brook Biomedical Engineering graduate students H. Ren, Z. Yuan, and research staff K. Park.

The research was supported, in part, by NIH grants and the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism Intramural Research Program.

The health, fitness, recreation and spa industry is a booming industry. Jobs are plentiful in all segments with lots of great perks. What?s wrong with working at a job where you get a free health club membership, discounts on food, retail products and spa services?? How about other great perks like socializing with men and women, meeting business owners and leaders, and having a wide variety of hours to work? (Health clubs are open a lot of hours, 7 days a week). One of the greatest perks is being able to conveniently improve your fitness level. If the job is just a part-time or temporary job while seeking a more suitable position based on your education and experience, you can get in great shape while reducing the stress of being underemployed. Also, many health club career opportunities don?t require college degrees. Full-time positions such as: Front desk/customer service management, membership sales, membership director, caf? manager, spa coordinators and spa managers, childcare supervisor, group exercise coordinator, club manager and maintenance director most often don?t require a degree. So what?s the best way to get a job in a health club? First, like any job, you want to make sure you are working for a well-respected organization. Put together a list of clubs you?d like to work for that are in a close proximity of your home or office if it?s a part-time job. Next, think about anyone you know that is a member or an employee and ask them how they feel about the club. Finally, think about what department you may want to work in and re-tool your resume to show interest and experience in this area. Finally, go to the club and find out what the application process is and who the hiring managers are. Each health club and organization has different ways they process job candidate?s applications. Some businesses accept applications at their location, others require candidates to apply online and many request resumes and cover notes be sent to an email address posted in their ads on job boards, such as FitnessJobs.com.
